We are thrilled to welcome The Gower Society back as a Gold sponsor of The Gower Walking Festival for another year.   It is the 10th year running that the The Society, which promotes and protects the landscape, nature and history of Gower, has supported the festival with a grant.

You’ll want to tune in for this! We’re excited to announce that broadcaster, journalist and keen walker Behnaz Akhgar has agreed to become an ambassador for the Gower Walking Festival. Behnaz came to Swansea, from Iran, when she was 10 and Gower holds a special place in her heart. We wanted to know more….

Festival participation numbers were well up on 2024, with nearly 400 participants walking over 170 miles of Gower and surrounding area on a total of over 30 walks.

We are delighted to announce that John Ashley, who has been the chair of the Gower Walking Festival organising committee for the last four years, has been elevated to the role of Honorary President.

We received a record number of entries for the 2025 Gower Walking Festival photography competition. And the quality was so good that, for the first time ever, we not only had a winner but also awarded three runners up prizes.

He is the Bard of the Bay, and now he can add the title of Gower Walking Festival official poet to his CV.
