ONE BOOT = Easy – mainly flat walking on paths with good surfaces. No steep hills or stiles. Few steps.
TWO BOOTS = Some exertion – generally good surfaces with some inclines and/or steps and stiles.
THREE BOOTS = Moderate – varied landscape, possibly with more challenging slopes. Stiles and steps expected. Suitable for keen walkers who are reasonably active.
FOUR BOOTS = Strenuous – challenging walk for fit and experienced walkers. Varied terrain, which could include steep gradients, stiles, steps and uneven surfaces.
Toilet symbol – public toilets available.
Dog symbol – dogs allowed on short leads only.
Packed lunch – bring your own along.
