Sarah Samuel’s earliest memories of walking with others were during her 5 years in school at Malvern. Taking a break from London publishing offices in the 1986, Sarah embarked on her travels to Australia, Thailand, India and included a trek around the Annapurna Sanctuary in Nepal.

The career of Professor Richard Daugherty OBE developed in two distinct phases.
From the mid-1960s to the late 1980s, he was closely involved in geography as both a teacher and contributor to The Geographical Association at a national level.

Originally from County Cork, it was love at first sight when Neil Barry first visited Gower with his partner in 1992 and he now counts himself very lucky have lived in Knelston for the last 18 years.

Located in Parkmill, the Gower Heritage Centre is centred around a fully functioning historic, water-powered flour mill – built in the 12th century.
MEET OUR WALK LEADERS: Mike Clinch
Mike Clinch is a retired teacher, having worked in a variety of schools for 35 years. He studied geography and geology at university in the late 70s and was fortunate that he could use my love of the landscape and the outdoors in my working life. Nowadays, he really enjoys passing on my knowledge to those that are interested.
MEET OUR WALK LEADERS: Julia & Steve Robson
Julia & Steve discovered Gower in the early 1970s when they were students at Swansea University. They lived in a flat overlooking Caswell Bay and fell in love with Gower. Sadly, once they graduated work was scarce, so they returned to West London where Steve became a secondary school teacher and Julia worked in IT.
