Dan grew up in Gowerton, where he developed a deep love for the outdoors, spending time exploring Gower’s beaches, coastlines, hills, and woodlands. This connection with the landscape continues to shape his life and work today.
He especially values the unique contrast between the urban areas of Swansea and the rural beauty of Gower. For Dan, each setting offers a different perspective; particularly when we slow down, engage our senses, and become more aware of the world around us.
One of Dan’s favourite places is Tor Bay. The walk from the car park in Penmaen feels like a pilgrimage in itself: leaving the business behind, passing through farmland and woodland, and emerging to a wide, open view of the sea stretching across to Oxwich Bay.
Before joining the Wonder of Wellbeing Gower team, Dan worked for many years as a Social Worker across psychiatry, safeguarding, and Children Looked After services. His appreciation for nature has always informed his approach, often encouraging others to step back from life’s challenges and find space to reflect outdoors; whether that’s sitting on a beach, visiting a local green space, or taking a short walk. Dan has also recently become accredited as a Forest Therapy Practitioner.
Dan is an enthusiastic walker and has explored many of Wales’ landscapes, including Pen y Fan (via multiple routes), Bannau Brycheiniog, Pembrokeshire, Yr Wyddfa, and Cadair Idris. He has also completed the British Three Peaks Challenge and taken part in events such as the Gower Mighty Hike. More recently, he has been exploring the Gower Pilgrimage Way, discovering new places and ways to connect with nature and wellbeing.

Through his work with Wonder of Wellbeing Gower, Dan now helps promote and encourage engagement with the Gower Pilgrimage Way; a 50-mile walking and cycling route linking 17 historic churches across the Gower Ministry Area. The route offers a unique opportunity to experience Gower’s rich heritage, stunning landscapes, and the spiritual tradition of pilgrimage.
Dan is passionate about creating welcoming spaces where people can slow down, encounter the environment in new ways, and journey together in a shared sense of community.
