Singing walk in Bishop’s Wood – 1.5 miles

This gentle singing walk will lead us through the sheltered valley of Bishop’s Wood Nature Reserve – a natural space for harmony singing. We’ll walk a little, sing a little and walk again, taking all the time we need along the way. Listening to the sounds and the silence and exploring the different acoustics of spaces such as the ‘cathedral’ beech woods, the Roundhouse and the ruined chapel – a small and atmospheric medieval ruin tucked quietly among the trees.

Songs are taught by ear on the day – rounds, call-and-response songs, easy harmonies, drawn from and inspired by the natural world. No previous experience or learning needed. The walk is as much about listening as it is about singing: to each other, to the birds, to the trees. Just bring a willingness to show up, slow down and immerse yourself in the experience.

Packed lunch is not required.
Toilets at Start and Finish.
This walk is not suitable for children.
No dogs.
Parking is at Caswell Bay car park and the walk will start from the space by the steps onto the beach.
Terrain will be mixed and typical of coastal and rural rights of way.
