Press Gangs, Smugglers and Unsolved Murders – 6 miles

A beautiful and interesting coastal and inland walk from Southgate to Caswell Bay, that will include a poets memorial stone, Iron Age fort, stories of a ship wreck, quarrying and smuggling, lunch on the beach and a mysterious murder with fantastic views and lovely woodland.

Drink/flask advisable for a break at Pwlldu.
Packed lunch advisable to enjoy at Caswell.  Alternatively, you can buy take away food from the Surfside Cafe or one of the other outlets at Caswell (NB. time will quite be tight).
There are no stiles on this walk.
Toilets available at Three Cliffs Coffee Shop at start and finish and at Caswell Bay (mid-walk).
Terrain will be mixed and typical of coastal and rural rights of way. There will be some inclines including one short but steep one at Pwlldu Head.
Well-behaved dogs on short leads can join the walk – see How to Book for the rules regarding dogs.
Not suitable for children due to the cliff top nature of part of the walk.
