Gower Walking Festival

Annual Celebration of Gower

Southgate, Penmaen, Cefn Bryn

moderate-icon

This walk takes you to some of the iconic places on Gower. From the village of Southgate, we will walk out onto the cliffs on the Wales Coast Path towards Three Cliffs Bay. With Pennard Castle in sight, we take a sandy route down onto the beach, cross over stepping stones, then up a steep sand dune to Penmaen, stopping on the site of Penmaen castle to look back at Three Cliffs. Continuing the coast path, passed Tor Bay, then leaving the coast crossing through Nicholaston and up to Cefn Bryn. Panaromic views across the whole of the peninsula and beyond. We now take the Gower Way route, east, looking towards Swansea. Dropping down to behind Penmaen and through Three Cliffs campsite, through the Northill Wood, to Parkmill, and back up to Pennard via the golf course and Pennard castle with its iconic views. Walkers can enjoy refreshments at the end at Three Cliffs Coffee Shop, opposite the NT carpark.
