Southgate, Three Cliffs, Cefn Bryn Circular

strenuous-icon

This walk takes you to some of the iconic places on Gower. From the village of Southgate, we will walk out onto the cliffs on the Wales Coast Path towards Three Cliffs Bay. With Pennard Castle in sight, we take a sandy route down onto the beach, cross over stepping stones, then up a steep sand dune to Penmean, stopping on the site of Penmaen castle. Continuing on the path, passed Tor Bay, then leaving the coast crossing through Nicholaston and up to Cefn Bryn.

Panaromic views across the whole of the peninusala and beyond. We now take the Gower Way route, east, looking towards Swansea. Dropping down to behind Penmaen and through Three Cliffs campsite, through the Northill Wood, to Parkmill, and back up to Pennard via the golf course. Walkers can enjoy refreshments at the end at Pennard Coffee Shop, opposite the NT carpark.
