Annual Celebration of Gower

Port Eynon and Paviland, the Story of the Red Lady

strenuous-icon

This walk marks the extraordinary discovery 200 years ago of a 34,000 year old ceremonial burial on Gower.

Starting in Port Eynon and heading out towards Skysea and a steep climb up the quarry to the Gower Society monument overlooking Culver Hole in the cliffs beneath us.  From there heading to Overton Mere and continue around Long Hole along narrow shingle paths and a decent pull to rejoin the top paths over fields to Paviland.  From here we can walk down to the fissure adjacent to the cave to hear all about its history.
