Gower Walking Festival

Annual Celebration of Gower

Gowerton, Estuary views and relics of industrial heritage

some-icon

The approx. 6 mile path will explore a lesser known corner of Gower, following paths in the Gowerton/Dunvant areas. We will walk through a community woodland maintained by volunteers before a climb that will be rewarded by fine views of the Loughor Estuary and hills beyond. We will later join part of the Gower Way, pass some remains of Dunvant’s industrial past, before ending our walk along the route of the old railway line that ran from Swansea to Shrewsbury.  Whilst most of the route will be on good paths, there will be number of steady ascents/descents, some wobbly stiles, and muddy in places.

Bring a packed lunch – option of refreshments in café in Gowerton at the end of the walk.
